Cecil County was named after Cecil Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore, the first Proprietary Governor of the Province of Maryland. Those in Cecil County can enjoy a large array of outdoor activities such as golfing, fishing, boating, and hiking. There are over 40 marinas from which to choose from as well as several golf courses.
